Sir Patrick Ledger Goodman - GNZM CBE

Pat Goodman turned his family business in Motueka into a major trans-Tasman food company that still carries the Goodman name.

He became founding chairman of Quality Bakers New Zealand, which merged with Fielder Gillespie Davis, Allied Mills of Australia, and Wattie Industries to become Goodman Fielder Wattie in 1987.

Goodman was appointed a special trade ambassador for New Zealand in 1990 and was on the New Zealand Trade Development Board and the Kiwifruit Marketing Board. He had a long association with Massey University and was a member of its Agriculture Research Foundation and patron of its Food Foundation.

Goodman formed the New Zealand Business and Parliament Trust and also supported the arts.
