Sir John Anderson
Sir John Anderson started his career working with Deloittes by day and studying accountancy at night. He joined the new formed merchant bank Southpac in 1972 and became Chief Executive in 1979. He led the organisation through mergers with The National Bank in 1989 and ANZ in 2003.
He retired as Chief Executive of ANZ National in 2005 and has since served on a number of boards as chair or director. These boards have included agriculture, health, media, industry, property, banking and other community roles, including chairmanship of New Zealand Cricket for 12 years.
